Reviews for Who Lives in Disguise

Your sequel to this came up on Random; I saw this title and decided to read this part first. Not too unusual to find I'd already read this five years ago. Not to worry; I've read so many stories here it's like another new story to me! And since you're one of my favorited writers, I know I'm going to enjoy this again. Here's another "10", for old time's sake!

Author's Response: Thanks. I'm sorry to say I don't think I've added anything to the sequel in five years. But I still hope I'll finish it one day.

Hi! So, I just read this whole fanfic today. I feel I read it sometime ago, but I don't remember so I just read it and, oh my! It was a good idea. I mean, I have a looot of homework to do and I swear I'll do it, but this I had to read. I loved the last phrase. Looking forward the sequel! I think I saw it on your profile so I'm gonna take a look again. Cheers! Thanks so much for writing and sharing!

Author's Response: I wasn't sure I could keep up the quality, but I believe I nailed it. Thanks. I'm afraid the sequel never went past ch7. I think it's still well worth a read, but then, I am biased.

"I don't want to do this any more" "Neither do I. But want is not my master" This killed me. I love it. I have no words... except that I love this fic more and more and more... and that reading what someone else said about Hermione and your reply to it... well, I agree with you. Hermione's more miserable than we are able to see in canon, mostly because canon sticks with Harry's own misery.

Author's Response: Harry's very self-absorbed. He barely notices other people's concerns. I put his self-sacrifice down to an inculcated martyr-complex.

Woah. That was harsh! I'm amazed at how... "almost" jelaous Snape sounds sometimes... Or maybe he's just using something he knows pains her to hurt her. Anyways, this is getting better and better and I'm enjoying myself a tad too much!

Author's Response: Just being hurtful, I'm afraid. He needs to keep up the vitriol to be sure her trust is not built on any false positive forgetting of how he's treated her; that wouldn't last because Dumbledore's inevitable imminent death can be counted on to shock her into memory.

I feel like I'm spaming your fanfic! But I adore this so much! There's so much I'd like to discuss and comment because I think this story is amazing! I love Severus here. I do. He's mean and snark and smart and... fantastic. "How could someone so brilliant be so childish?" I'm amazed at Hermione's understanding or, better put, at her wording of her understanding. What I mean to say is that I'm amazed at how she just doesn't think him mean/evil/bad/bastard... but childish. She's right, of course.

Author's Response: He's spent the majority of his life in that school, and he's still surrounded by people who taught him. I find it hardly surprising he sometimes forgets whether he's student or teacher.

Hi! Sorry, I have a question :) "He traced his mouth with his finger" I've read this in many fanfics now, but I don't quite remember Snape doing this in the books... (but I haven't re-read them in a while) so my question is, is this canon? Or this lip-tracing is just something that happened in fandom? I think it's marvelous and I get a little... warm... when I picture him doing it. But I thought I'd ask you. About Hermione's sister. I'm glad you made her a part of the story. It's getting very interesting, and I adored Hermione and Severus' little give and take at the end.

Author's Response: The finger-tracing is from canon. He does it at least once in an Occlumency lesson. There's no mention of a sister in the books. I put it in as a nod to JK's interview comments (although TBH I don't count interview comments as canon.)

Hi! ~waves~ I don't usually comment till the end but this time I had to: "I prefer a know-it-all to a know-nothing" I adore Snape's dramatics on the books, and I adore to see it appear in the fics, as well. And that phrase made me giggle. He's awesome. :) Now, off I go to continue reading.

Author's Response: Thanks. I did enjoy writing that line. The sad thing about Ron, and Harry too for that matter, is that it's not that they'restupid; they just really don't want to know. If it's not about Quidditch or Voldemort or anti-Slytherin, it might as well not exist. (As CoS-Ron put it, "I've got better things to do in Potions than listen to Snape...")

Oh no. It's close

Author's Response: Yes, very close. Probably the third-worst day of Snape's life...
