Well done. It was very interesting. I loved your format and flow of the story. Great perspective and amazing job with the internal voice of Severus. |

"Ah, but in the end, I knew more of her secrets than she knew of mine."
For some reason I find that just a haunting sentence...the entire passage describing Narcissa and Severus is haunting. But I love the entire story. Excellently done. Thank you. |

A flat-out ten stars, without question. Incredibly well-written (which, as it turns out, does not seem to come easily with this pairing) and very well-characterized. But most of all, first person?! Good Lord, I would prefer splinching myself over attempting Snape's first-person POV. And yet, obviously, you manage marvelously. I have in mind the impression of a still unpleasant, still ugly (thank God), still self-absorbed Snape though rather more tolerant and drained than before. Old, I thought, more than anything else, and strangely mature, for him. Every bit of interaction on here was priceless, from the haughty hag to Dumbledore playing matchmaker.
Oh, I'm lost as to what Hermione meant about the Polyjuice Potion? I didn't catch why Snape reacted as he did.
Everything done as nearly to perfection as possible. I find nothing to complain of. Gorgeous.
Author's Response: Thank you (times ten, actually)! I'm glad you enjoyed, and this is all so wonderful to hear.
As for the Polyjuice issue, Snape reacted the way he did because of the experiences he'd had with Narcissa (and more recently with the whore in Hogsmeade); Hermione knows of his aversion/issues with the stuff because of what he said to her after the final battle (as hinted at in her final letter to him). |
