Oooh. I like this story SO MUCH. I think that's EXACTLY what Severus is longing for - a chance to be something more than a grouchy old curmudgeonly potions teacher. He has had to be so cautious, not permitting himself to love because it's just too dangerous for a spy during war time. And I love to think that Hermione loves him, that she truly sees the man he can be, once this monstrous war is over.
