Reviews for La Belle Hermione, sans Merci

Great poem Cind! I was wondering why you said your not a fan of "fanfic" poetry... since you wrote a pretty good one yourself. From my perspective, the wide range of emotions and images evoked by poetry is action in and of itself.

Although, you do have a point because fanfic poems have a tendency to be a bit tedious, but they tend to fare well enough when infused with a good amount of personal experience, thats what I did.

Have you read the very first poem posted in here? It's about Severus being a grump at christmas- and one of the funniest poems I've ever read! Thanks for the great read! ~Nyxx

Author's Response: Hi Nyxx, thank you for your review! = ) Lol - don't worry - I was mildly dissing, in a joking manner, 'highschool-angsty' poetry eg -"I feel like this... blah blah - and like that .. blah blah" LOL - I just like concrete images ; ) I've never read the grumpy Severus Christmas poem - please post and tell me which one that is = )) Thanks again!

Well you already know my opinion--19th Century Rocks! Maybe we should do a form of Christobel? Rhyme of the Ancient Mariner might take a tremendous amount of energy to pull off.... Just not Wordsworth epic about himself ::giggle:: Or, pontification about 'little spots of time'...but we can make fun of his relationship with his sister! :) Innogen
Cin~ You did a really good job with this, following a previous form or not. I just want you to know

Author's Response: Lol - Well, you already know my opinion - you rock too = ) Thanks so much hun = ) Rime of the Ancient Mariner would be hilarious to pull off... and what about Browning's My Last Duchess... The possibilities are endless!

Wonderful! I love Keats. I also like that this poem's tone stays in the Romantic style.

The fact that Dumbledore would not approve of a union between a professor and a student seems the most realistic point of view.

Thank you for a delightful trestise.

Author's Response: Thank you for your delightful review = ) Keats IS amazing! : )

the poems rythmic feel seems more bouncy than it's sad message. It's good, I can't write like this.

Author's Response: I'm glad you thought it was good :) Thanks for the review. I agree with you, it's a little bouncy, but I think that's due to the fact it's a ballad telling a story, and not expressing it. I followed Keats' rhyme scheme - it was 888 and 4 though I took some liberties (like on the 4 syl lines).

I usually abhor "fanfic" poems (can you say WANGST!) but I really liked your work. The poem is very well structured, and even though the language is flowery, I could believe that Snape might sound that way inside his own head. Thanks!

Author's Response: Lol, Thank you for your review. I'm not too great a fan of fanfic poems myself - mostly because its usually a big spurt of all emotion and no action... Damn Wordsworth and his "Spontaneous overflow of feeling by a man thinking long and hard" definition of poetry. = ) However, I do have a feeling Keats is rolling in his grave right now...
