Oh. Holy. Fuck.
Author's Response: Pretty much Hermione's reaction, too. |

Hermione, he said, voice surprisingly gentle; he must have knelt on the floor because he put his arms about her, pressing her head to his chest. I do believe you can take my word for it that sometimes a course of action doesn't appear wrong until after you've committed yourself. Severus' reaction to Hermione's reaction made me think of a quote from Winnie the Pooh: "...when you are a Bear of Very Little Brain, and you Think of Things, you find sometimes that a Thing which seemed very Thingish inside you is quite different when it gets out into the open and has other people looking at it." Beth
Author's Response: I love Winnie the Pooh. He has more brain than he gives himself credit for. |

His rashness at the end brought me to tears. You are quite the writer, lady.
Author's Response: I'm glad it worked for you! |

ahh, this story was written so long ago but i must say that a few chapters back this got real freaking interesting. i know its good when i have to step away from the computer and react. to be honest i wasn't even expecting to get this far in the story, but i'm glad i did.
Author's Response: Hmm, if it took nearly 25 chapters to get really interesting, I've got some rewriting to do! |

AAAAAAAHHHHH! That was AMAZIIINNGG!!!! I wish could wax more eloquently prosaical on the transports of delight and passion you have wrought in my soul, but alas, finals are upon me, and my tongue grows faint.
Author's Response: Tsk, tsk -- reading fanfiction during finals. Snape would have a thing or two to say about that. But as it's ~my~ story ...
In all seriousness: Thanks! |

Yeah, well, I thought from the beginning it wasn't such a good idea to sell to Muggles. *shrugs* That dialogue ... they weren't always talking of the same thing, were they? Quite complex, Hermione's realistion of what she's become: there's her righteous anger and of course the wish to avenge herself; but that she even considers killing him - or that there is a part of her that considers it - shows that she's adopted quite a lot of the Slytherin-lessons. Also, and I might be overanalysing here - how like him she's become (in some aspects), something that she didn't want to happen. --- ... He's put himself in her shoes ... Dramatic chapter. Wonderful chapter! Oh, breathe ...
Author's Response: No, they weren't always talking of the same thing. Hermione makes assumptions based on her understanding of Snape's motivations, and he interprets her words wrongly as well. She has become more like him in some ways -- I'm glad you noticed that. |

Author's Response: Oh good. That's one of the most rewritten spots of the entire story. |

I knew. I knew. You're my new Shakespeare from now on
Author's Response: Yikes -- that's quite a weighty responsibility! |
