"Then she Apparated to her warehouse, little suspecting that the awkward tea had been entirely for his benefit." OMG! Severus just appeared in her front doorway. I don't know whether to be worried or delighted. Beth
Author's Response: He actually meant well in this case, but it seemed designed to give her a heart attack. |

Could that be Veritaserum in that tea, while giving SS enough time to get Mrs. J's message that "she has finally showed up" and slip down the hill to follow the silly girl to her lair to make her confess? Oooo, this be delicious! (the story, not the tea) I believe I know (gee, I hope I'm right!) where the relationship is going, but you continue to surprise in how you get it there....
Author's Response: No Veritaserum, though that would be an appropriate move for a potions-ingredient supplier! As for the rest: excellent guess indeed. |

"You've each worked out how to manage the other — it's not always manipulation, sometimes it's simply knowing what to say when.” -- I liked that very much, and it's so important that Hermione sees this herself, scared and scarred as she is. So, the Galleon has dropped - or was dropped, by Penelope. I really liked that scene. Though the situation is still horrible. And it's beyond ironic that the man who hurt Hermione so much was the one who made her feel belong in the good sense. Penelope's words, too. Very wise, that Ravenclaw witch. --- So that's what Mrs Jigger was up to. I was wondering with Hermione ...
Author's Response: Yes, Penelope understands what it feels like to not belong. I always thought Hermione needed a Muggle-born friend. (Harry doesn't count, despite his upbringing, because he's famous.) |

Author's Response: I am Woman ... hear me roar. |

Wasn't there something in the contract about not telling people about it? Or is it all null and void, now that he burned it?
Author's Response: The latter, your honor. ;-) |

Dang it! Hermione really should have hired Dobby to be her bodyguard. She's not gonna be the 'murder' in a 'murder/suicide', is she? Would your Severus Snape do such a thing? It seems you love to surprise us....
Author's Response: No, no -- that I can promise. No murder, no suicide. |

delightful. Really, really enjoying this, but VERY glad Severus is back on the scene -- I miss him when he's in the background.
Author's Response: He does tend to have that effect on people. |

You must update soon. The suspense of this story is hell on my nails.
Thank you for the torture, and please write the next chapter as quickly as possible.
Author's Response: Well, I update unusually quickly for the fanfiction world, so that's something, right? |
