Since I put up our donation page, on Sunday, you wonderful people have helped us achive (actually, over-achive) our goal for next year's bill. Words cannot express what I feel right at this moment... I truly thought it would take until May to come even close to what the bill is - and you've all exceeded my wildest expectations. Thank you, so much.
If you have donated, and would like to be recognized (I'll be updating the main page and adding to the SH Supporters section), please let me know via sh.userhelp at gmail.com with your user name. Otherwise, your donation will be listed as anonymous.
We are striving to make Sycophant Hex a viable fan fiction website for as long as possible. For the past couple of years, we have had a patroness who has shouldered the entire cost of web hosting when the bill came due. This, unfortuntely, is not financially possible any longer. As a result, we have made the hard decision to once again open up donantions to our site. We have created a paypal account which will soley be used to pay for Nexcess.net, our web host server. The bill runs us around $260 a year - which is normally due June 1st.
We understand that many users are unable to donate for various reasons, from not having a job, don't have a credit or a debit card, or simply can't afford to put money into a website.
Although any donations made are sincerely appreciated, there is no and will be no rewards to people who donate.
Since this is a donation (not a purchase or exchange), please be aware that your donations will not generate for you any special interests in Sycophant Hex - you will have no say over how we run the site, what stories are posted, or whether or not someone is granted validated author status.
The only thing close to a reward for donating is a very sincere thank you.
If you have any questions, please contact the help desk at sh.userhelp at gmail.com.
Nexcess, our web server, is doing some maintenance and upgrades tonight. As a result, there may a be loss of services between 2am-4am EST as they replace their RAM and do other preventative maintenance measures. Everything should be back in working order by 6am EST.
Thank you,
Celisnebula
